bssm Doctrinal Statement
-
We
believe that the Bible is the word of God. That all
66 books of the Bible are inspired by God
and therefore infallible and inerrant in all that they teach; so that the
Bible is the sole authority for Christian faith and practice. 2 Timothy
3:15, 2 Peter 1;20-21.
-
We
believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
Therefore, He had the very nature of God and is himself God in human form,
the second person of the divine Trinity. We furthermore believe in the
virgin birth of our Lord. John 1:1-14, Matthew 28:19, Luke 1:35.
-
We
believe in the bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ.
We affirm that after being crucified for our sins, He rose from the dead in
a glorified, supernatural body and now sits on the right hand of God the
Father. John 2:19-20, 1 Corinthians 15:4, Romans 10:9.
-
We
believe in the divine Trinity. That is
that there in only one God who exists in three persons, these persons being
God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost. These persons we
affirm to be different in office and person; but, the same in divine
substance and nature. Matthew 28:19, 2 Corinthians 13:14.
-
We
believe that Jesus died on the cross for our sins,
and that in that act, purchased our redemption and finished the atonement
and all that was required for our salvation. John 19:30.
-
We
believe that a person is saved when they in accordance with the scriptures
truly believe in their heart and confess with their mouth that Jesus is the
Lord of their life; and, that He rose from the dead,
for their sins; we believe that then they become a new creature in Christ
with works following. Romans 10:8-10.
-
We
believe in immersion, this mode of
Baptism more than any other demonstrates that a person has been buried with
Christ as they go under the water and resurrected with Christ when they come
out of the water. We believe that all Christians
should be baptized in accordance with the Word of God. Mark
16:15-16, Romans 6:4-6.
-
We
believe in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. We affirm that upon the
moment of true belief and confession of Christ, a person receives the Holy
Spirit and is placed in the body of Christ. 1 Corinthians 12:3, Rom 8:9.
-
We
believe in a subsequent Baptism and filling of the
Holy Ghost, that is we affirm that after a person is saved, they
can be empowered by the Holy Spirit for Christian service. This empowerment
can be evidenced by the gift of tongues
as well as by other gifts and manifestations of the
Holy Spirit according to the will of God. Acts 1:8.
-
We
believe that miracles are for today.
Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. God still heals and
performs miracles according to his sovereign will as set forth in the Holy
Scriptures. Psalms 103:1-3, Hebrews 13:8,
-
We
believe in the second coming of Jesus Christ,
that is that at some unannounced time, Jesus Christ will return physically
and gloriously to this earth. 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17, Rev 1:7.
-
We
believe in the doctrine of Heaven and Hell.
We affirm that there is a place of eternal bliss prepared for the righteous
where they will dwell forever with God and Christ. Also, there is a place
of eternal torment for all those who have rejected Jesus Christ.
Rev 21:1-4, Rev 20:15.
-
We
believe in tithing under grace, not as a
requirement of the law, but as an expression of our dedication to the work
of the Lord in the local church. Matthew 23:23, Heb 7:7-8, 2 Corinthians
9:7.
-
We
believe that the true church is one body of many
members, consisting of all those who have received God’s free
gift of salvation, regardless of church affiliation. We believe that all
believers should earnestly endeavor to keep the unity of the spirit in the
bond of peace. 1 Corinthians 12, Ephesians 4:3-6.
-
We
believe in the dedication of little children to the
Lord, as opposed to infant Baptism. Matthew 19:14.
-
We
believe in the resurrection of both the saved and
lost, that they are saved unto the
resurrection of eternal life; and, that they are lost unto
the resurrection of eternal punishment.
John 5:28-29.
-
We
believe that sex is ordained only for marriage
partners and sex before or outside of marriage is the sin of
fornication. 1 Corinthians 6:18,, 1 Corinthians 7:1-2.
-
We
believe that man fell by transgression from a state
of righteousness and innocence in which he was created, and into
a state of death, in which he held as a slave of sin until he delivered by
the power of the Gospel of Christ. Romans 3:23, Romans 5:12.
-
We
oppose racism and prejudice in any form.
We affirm that all people are created equal in the
eyesight of God. To make any distinction on the basis of color
of ethnic group is a sin and will not be tolerated by Strictly Biblical
Bible Teaching Ministries.
Acts 10:34-35.
-
We
believe that homosexuality is a sin before
God. We also affirm that marriage is a relationship between one
man and one woman
only. Practicing
homosexuals cannot be members of a Biblical Church. Leviticus
18:22.

James 5:19-20 (KJV) 19 Brethren,

And One Convert Him; 20 Let
Him Know, That He Which Converteth The Sinner From The

The Bible Is Always Our Primary Resource. We Examine These Groups Documentations
To Grasp What The Actually Teach Verses What Many Of Their Adherents Say They
Believe And Teach. Our Prayer Is To Cause Cognitive Dissonance With Hope Of
Causing Some To Re-Think What They Have Been Exposed To And Hopefully Causing
Others To Avoid These Groups All Together (Romans
16:17; Ephesians
5:8-14). As Well, We're Always Looking For The Opportunity To Witness The
Gospel Of Jesus Christ To Them.
